Other ways we can help
Food Is Meant to Be Eaten
Food is meant to be eaten. Not thrown out at the end of a shift. Not left to wilt because nobody knew it was there. Not hidden behind a form that makes you feel small for asking.
Polk County has more than enough food. What we don't always have is an easy way to find it. So this is a simple, honest list of where to go, when to go, and who to call — built by neighbors, for neighbors.
If you need food today, that's a normal part of being human. Most people need help sometimes. The places listed here are open to you. You don't have to explain yourself. You don't have to prove anything. Just show up, or call ahead if that feels better.
If you have food to share, or time to deliver, or a porch a fridge could sit on — there's a place for you here too. Small things, done kindly, add up.
No shame. No lecture. Just food, and the people who care about it.
